Events

We are organizing a number of events and activities for 2008-2009.

"Cultivating Mindfulness: Reconnecting to Self through Relationship" workshop, here in Canmore. This is a 3-day workshop aimed at increased consciousness and awareness through work with animals. People and dogs both invited - see complete details on the Development page

"On the Trail" offers both weekend and week-long getaways where you and your dog will be introduced to a new approach in well-being. Incorporated will be introductions to Search & Rescue Tracking, Agility, Integral Awareness training and holistic advice on how to improve your and your dogs quality of life.

Kid's camps for your children and your animal friends! What better way to learn about the value of the bond between your children and their furry friends than a weekend or a week where they rely completely on each other - ALL under professional guidance and supervision, of course.

Please contact us for details.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in beautiful Canmore!

Search & Rescue Tracking - Weekend Get-a-Way

"On the Trail" has the perfect weekend getaway for your family: a weekend spent outside in the Rocky Mountains, learning highly useful skills that will bring everyone involved closer together - adults, children and dogs are welcomed.
Next to an in-depth introduction to Search & Rescue Tracking for canine/handler teams you will be instructed theory and hands-on tracking work with the dogs.

Upcoming Classes

Tracking:

We track in various alternating locations, depending on time of day/year, weather, terrain conditions, etc...so, Please check your inboxes, or Contact Us for exact locations and times.

TRACKING REMINDER: Please collect a number of articles of varying sizes and materials for the ARTICLE SEARCH portion of the class.
Here is some idea of the variety I'd like you to have in your "object bag":
- wood (cork, small wood blocks....)
- metal/tin (ex: cutlery, mint box, old keys...)
- plastic (old shampoo bottle, film container etc.)
- fabric (at least 3 different ones, for beg. dogs - old sock, glove, ball cap, rags etc.)
- leather (old key chain or gardening glove)
- nylon
- glass (thick, like a spice bottle)

Please keep the above items no smaller than a key tag/golf ball size, and if possible mark with your initials and keep them in a "sturdy bag".

.Also bring a favourite reward for the article searching (could be a toy or a treat). If you have a clicker, bring that as well.

Hello all,

Please take a look at the following book by Wendy Bush. I have the book myself and it’s a great read and a nice resource for the history of working dogs in Western Canada. Some of you know Wendy – she tracks with Morley and Avery in Canmore – and she is offering the book for $25.00 for “On the Trail” members...

If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll bring it to class for you.

Thanks - Frans
